PEFC/SFI Joint Conference successfully concluded
This year's PEFC Member Meeting/General Assembly was held jointly with the General Assembly of　SFI （The Sustainable Forestry Initiative）, in Vancouver, Canada, from May 14 to 18, 2023. In the PEFC only session, the 2030 ＰＥＦＣ Strategy was approved, and a proposal for a new calculation method for 2024 member fee was discussed. It was also an oppotunity for participants to experience Canada’s wonderful nature and culture through the field trips.

Nomura Real Estate Receives The Third Project Certification
Nomura Real Estate Development Co., Ltd. completed the H1O Umeda Chayamachi office building in Osaka, in April 2023. The building is constructed of environmentally friendly SGEC-certified wood and is the third property in the H1O series to obtain partical project certification.


Hanno City Forestry Certification Council Completes , Its First Project Certification Property
The Hanno City Forestry Certification Council has completed a partical certification property using SGEC-certified Nishikawa lumber at the Forest Hagiwara House and model room on March 28, 2023.

Mizuno used PEFC-Certified Paper
Mizuno Corporation, a general sporting goods manufacturer, has selected PEFC-certified paper, a certification for environmental protection, for the first time for the paper packaging of its ice bags.

Running a Campaign with the Support of the Ministry of the Environment and the Consumer Affairs Agency
SGEC/PEFC Japan will once again hold a campaign for general consumers this year. This June, which is Environment Month, the campaign will be launched  on 8th till  28th June 2023. participants are challenged to take a photo of a product with the SGEC or PEFC logo marks and post it on Twitter. Among the participants, 150 winners will be selected by lottery to receive an Amazon gift card or a set of environmentally friendly products. This campaign aims to raise awareness about SGEC and PEFC logo marks.

Gulou Bridge Waterfront: Timber Bridge connects the local cultural heritage with rural development
The eye-catching 25-metre-long Gulou bridge in Jiangmen, China, forms part of an eco-cultural tourist resort for nature education, fishing, and farming activities. Hundreds of PEFC-certified wooden elements are bolted together to form the bridge, paying tribute to the traditional construction techniques employed in the rural villages of Southern China.
