Relocation of SGEC/PEFC Japan's Office (Nagatacho Bldg. to Sanno Grand Bldg.)

Due to the reconstruction of the Nagatacho Building, SGC/PEFC Japan has temporarily moved our office to the Sanno Grand Building since June 24 to ensure smooth operations. All our staff members will continue to provide our services in the new environment to your satisfaction.

SCS Global Services is the 7th Certification Body

SGEC/PEFC Japan and SCS Global Services , headquartered in the United States, have signed a public notification agreement effective July 1, 2024.  SCS is now the seventh certification body to offer PEFC-COC certification in Japan. We expect that this will lead to an increase in PEFC certifications.
Good news for smokers! First Eco-Smoking Spot Using SGEC-Certified Materials Opens in Ginza, Japan

Japan's first permanent smoking spot using SGEC-certified materials has been set up in Tokyo's Ginza district. It is a trailer house made of SGEC-certified lumber, which certifies sustainable forest management, and is a new spot that brings the warmth of nature into the hustle and bustle of the city.
The 45th Japan Kenzai (Building Materials) Fair

SGEC/PEFC Jaoan will participate in the 45th Japan Kenzai Fair at Tokyo Big Sight on August 22 and 23. SGEC/PEFC Japan's booth will feature a quiz on forest certification and a stamp rally where you can learn about sustainable products. Many SGEC/PEFC-certified products will also be on display at the venue as environmentally friendly materials.  Your partisipation would be appreciated.

Hosted the Sixth School for “SDGs Study Visit & Learning Program”
 

On June 26, 2024, we hosted 19 students from Tamano Konan High School in Okayama Prefecture for the " SDGs Study Visit & Learning Program," which is part of their school. We gave a lecture  on the importance of forests, the impact of deforestation, and the forest certification system, SGEC and PEFC as a countermeasure against global warming, etc. 

As more and more companies focus on sustainability and ESG management, there is a growing interest in acquiring forest certification. Forest certification consulting services exist to meet this need. Expert consultants provide answers to questions and issues faced by companies and support them in the process of acquiring forest certification.
